So SKRILLEX… I have ignored him for awhile, because frankly he did not come thru my trusted DubStep sources. Interesting story: a hardcore connection, arts school, then remixes … Seems like he was in the right place right time, and had a relentless vision. Any dub/brostep producer would’ve done, but Deadmau5 + the moment, that’s how Americans got a Grammy for dubstep. I love the hard stuff (Circus Records etc), but personally I’m into the smoother/funkier shit Joker, Rustie, Guido. First traditional pop success I’ve been able to follow, post-YouTube.
